Sanjay Podishetty

Sanjay Kumar Podishetty is a Data & Financial Analytics Engineer in the Office of Operational Finance & Enterprise Governance (OFEG), where he transforms operational data into clear, decision-ready reporting for university leaders. His current focus is a space-occupancy analytics platform that helps Mason better understand how its buildings and spaces are utilized across campus. 

Sanjay joined George Mason in January 2024 to pursue a Master of Science in Data Analytics Engineering. While completing the degree, he served in Fiscal Services, modernizing automated workflows relied upon by teams across Student Accounts, the International Tax Office, and other administrative departments. He earned his master’s in December 2025, with a capstone project analyzing global terrorism trends in partnership with Mason’s Terrorism, Transnational Crime and Corruption Center (TraCCC). Prior to Mason, he worked as a DevOps Engineer and holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science. During his undergraduate years, he served as Vice Chairperson of his university’s IEEE Computer Society, organizing technical and cultural events that fostered student engagement and community. 

Originally from India, Sanjay is grounded by his family and the values they instilled in him. He approaches both his work and his life with natural curiosity and a commitment to continuous learning, and is known among friends and colleagues for his enthusiasm and collaborative spirit.
