Sidney Costa joined George Mason University in 2023 and serves as a Business Analyst within the Enterprise Business Analyst Office. In this role, Sidney contributes to the development, refinement, and implementation of enterprise-level intake, governance, and process-improvement efforts that advance George Mason’s strategic and operational goals. Her work focuses on partnering with departments across the university to understand business needs, assess operational challenges, and design solutions that improve clarity, efficiency, and compliance.
Prior to joining George Mason, Sidney served as a case manager II with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), specializing in unaccompanied minor and child sex trafficking cases. In that role, she strengthened her technical investigative capabilities, advanced her problem-solving skills, and served as a liaison among families, social service agencies, and federal and local law enforcement partners—including the FBI, the U.S. Marshals Service, and Homeland Security Investigations. This background has provided her with a strong foundation in analytical thinking, systems navigation, and multidisciplinary coordination, which she now brings to higher-education business analysis and governance work at George Mason.
Sidney is a graduate of Michigan State University in East Lansing, where she became a lifelong Spartan fan.
Outside of work, she enjoys exploring the outdoors with her son, two dogs, and husband throughout Northern Virginia and the surrounding states. Their favorite destination is Davis, West Virginia—where they love camping, hiking, and taking in the peaceful landscapes and natural beauty the region has to offer.
